Not a whole lot to report today. Yesterday I did some farm-like chores around the yard and transplanted a group of seedlings. There are still plenty of chores to be completed. Once I “clock out” this afternoon I will suit up and attempt to make progress on some of these chores.

I decided that it was in my best interest to stay at home last night rather than drive up to Buckhead to attend a hash I wasn’t going to run; my wallet, liver, and kidneys appreciated this decision.

I contemplated a 6am Lowe’s run this morning — yes, I do need more things from there — but decided that staying in bed and then eating a leisurely breakfast was preferable today.

In addition to trying to figure out how to become a better employee of “XYZ Corp” (this assignment is making it difficult), I have a 9am appointment at CHaRM for recycling drop off. It will be nice to rid myself of the recycling that has accumulated in my carport recently.

Unless I go outside to see an empty curb it appears that the City of Atlanta couldn’t keep its alternative week recycling/yard waste pickup schedule. Yesterday was supposed to be a yard waste pickup day, and as of sunset the bags were still on my curb.

Hope you are well, and that your week has started off happily.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 183.2 pounds (-1.8 from last week’s weigh-in); apparently cycling and eating at Red’s Beer Garden are beneficial for me as well!

I know I made the right decision not to hash either, though I do have a wee little bit of FOMO. I was so cold last night! I wore my hat in the house, turned up the heat, made miso soup for dinner and hugged the bowl as I ate it and went to bed early. I felt way too wussy to be outdoors all evening and with the potential of a lack of heat source. Ah well, I’ll be bitching about the heat soon enough…

I hear you can report a missed pickup at 311 or on the COA website.

It was a fairly slow day at work, interrupted with a trip for the round bale. After work, I loaded said round bale in the hay hut, then headed to the feed store for some T posts and wood posts. Came home and unloaded, then back out to the grocery store.

Debbie is now on strict “keep your leg elevated” rules. Minimal walking, NO RIDING. Hopefully, by next weeks visit it will be better and they won’t have to go to a vacuum device or a hyperbaric chamber.

A brief ride last night. I started a 40 minute workout and after feeling warmed up, skipped forward to the first interval. It was so much resistance, with a little bit of a low tire, I wasn’t able to turn the flywheel! Reset. Just rode for another 20 minutes and called it a night.

A half day today, then a dentist appointment in Stone Mountain. Might take the bike with me.

  4. CHaRM and Aldi trip done. Pleasure of seeing Bonnie at Aldi too.

Bummed that US (Southeast? Georgia? Atlanta?) Aldi stores don’t carry all of the cool garden/household items I’ve seen UK Aldi customers purchase; things like rain barrels, mini greenhouses, and potting benches. 😢
