Taking a different tack today. I have a series of tasks which need to be done, all which conflict with the idea of being a dutiful employee, so I am taking a day off from “XYZ Corp”. Writing this blog post is the first task of the day.

Yesterday afternoon I spent an inordinate amount of time planting my first round of potatoes! Obviously I have never attempted to grow potatoes before, so this will all be experimental.

I harvested my first radish yesterday, and it was tasty.

Last night was the final German class of this quarter. Starting today I am going to make a honest attempt at creating a habit of learning German each day.

Once done with this blog post I will be watching a two-hour long YouTube video about an Apple coding technology called “Combine” that I am in the process of learning as well. I need to start doing some iOS development in order to be able to interview again in case the need arises this year.

I will be running some errands once I am done with the video, so I think that I am going to eat out lunch today, perhaps even eating meat?

Depending on what time I return home I will either do some yard work this afternoon, or prepare my tax paperwork so that I can drop it off next week.

Even though I haven’t yet joined the Cool Vaccinated Kid Club I expect to be hanging outside with friends this weekend, observing social distancing and masking up as necessary of course.

On Sunday I will be bundling up and riding Wheelhopper. This will make two in a row, thanks in most part to my healing knee and the promise of non-technical rides.

Hope that you have a healthy and happy weekend.

OF COURSE the day after I drive 80+ miles for my vaccine my Emory doctors office emails me and tells me I’m eligible and to come on in! Ugh.

I’m going to see if I can find a green dress today for Saturday’s PineLake Green Dress home crawl.

    • Be grateful that you are halfway done already! 🙌🏼

I got an email from Piedmont the day after I scheduled in Hapeville. Oh well, I’ll keep my original appointment.

Good luck dress shopping! I kinda wish I was going to it with you, but I don’t want to wear a dress and have another commitment. You will have fun, I’m sure.

Chores would start early for me today, but the mizzus is still asleep and didn’t give me the feed store shopping list last night.

I have almost punched through the excavation with my newly sharpened “pointy stick”. I had an 8’ piece of big conduit laying around and cut a point on it. Jam it in the hole, then pull it back out and empty it. I’ve reached the limit in one direction and am still a couple feet short. May use the pressure washer and shovel to come from the other direction. What fun.

Tomorrow will be a hunt “outing” to Calloway. Another hunt is having a field day and we’re invited. Not sure what to expect.

Wheel hopper Sunday, you say? Hmmm.. know where the start is?

  3. Sad news relayed to me: the hasher Blue Ball Special (aka Claire) has passed away. If you are in the know then you know that this isn’t unexpected, but she was another July ‘65 baby, and a friend, so it saddens me.

Let this be another reminder that life is limited, and we need to make the most of our time here.

  4. I was going to walk up to The EARL and eat a meaty hamburger, but it’s too cold for me to sit outside. COVID has really fucked up my restaurant game, which is probably how I have lost thirty pounds.

  5. ITP Lurker says:

I got my shot today. Next one is April 16. It does feel very 1918 to be carrying around a vaccination card now.

  6. Bob says:

My company has given us 4 hours of PTO to get vaccinated. I took full advantage of that today and drove to Jasper to get shot, then to Talking Rock to ride, then to Big Uns BBQ for lunch. Pretty good start to the day 🙂

I hope to see you all at wheelhopper!!
