Oh hello. I’ve just come in from WLF where I’ve done minimal maintenance this morning, mostly because the weather is wonderful. I planted a few zucchini seeds to replace the plants that are now nearing end of life, and pulled the one squash plant that has already reached it. I also pulled the rest of my garlic, which was a complete bust this year. Oh well, “Better luck next time!” as all the losers say. Also on my failed crops list was the disappointing batch of beets that grew no larger than ping pong balls — yes, they were Wee Little Beets. 🙁🤦🏻‍♂️

Speaking of losers, I better stop eating so much food else I will be a weight gainer instead of a weight loser. As we return to the lifestyles that we had before COVID I now understand why I was forty pounds heavier.

To combat my eating I mowed the lawn yesterday, and, walked to Betsy’s for Top Chef night. Granted Betsy lives only a mile away, but I added two miles of walking I would not have gotten otherwise.

Tonight I am going to do something that I have not done in a long time, sit around a bar with some of my friends with whom I used to work at Echostar. Word on the street is that one of them, who is either in his late-forties or early-fifties has knocked up his (much? younger) wife. 😮😮😮 Actually, it’s not that much of a surprise since they have been talking about it since getting married a few years ago. I’ll be driving up to Biriarcliff/LaVista (you’ll have to guess which one) this afternoon. I may see if I can call into my 4:00pm meeting remotely.

Hope you are remaining happy and healthy.

For some reason, my internet- both providers- was in the tank yesterday afternoon. I finally threw in the towel about 2:30. Took a little nap, then mowed pasture for a while.

Up early to be in the orifice, mostly on time. Horses were quite surprised to get breakfast at 0600. I’m not staying all day, as the Daisy and Tanner need lunch- growing baby and momma feeding 2 and all that.

I hope 75/85 South is clear by then- bad wreck at University had everything southbound backed up past 10th St.

Woke up to the ceiling fan not spinning, oh yeah, a power outage. But, after an hour or so, it’s back on. It’s supposed to be in the 90s today, my Dad would love the heat, but my sister & I would die.

Allan flew back last night, I’m here until Tuesday.
    Fun, fun, fun.

  3. I just witnessed an owl flying through WLF. That was cool.

Nice! I had a young deer in the backyard last night. There is something really tasty for her to be so close to the house. The dogs were clueless, thankfully. One of our hunt friends had a fawn in her barn just the other day. We figured mom was nearby and had just dropped the baby off.

We need an owl, or 2 or more.
Damn moles or whatever critters love digging holes in my grass.
