Back from a fun weekend of camping with the hash at Lake Hartwell. We had the best camping weather that I ever experienced, which along with drinking copious amounts beer, helped me sleep like a baby.

I was shocked to see that one of the mainstays of my trips to Hartwell, Dad’s gas station and Stuckey’s-like store right off of the last export before reaching the South Carolina border, has gone out of business. I have used that as a landmark for nearly twenty years, and contemplated stopping to buy extra beer on this journey.

Saturday’s hash was a good time made better by the fact that I didn’t hurt myself nor was I left behind at the end this year. Woot!

The only negative of my weekend was that the damn postal service did not honor my mail hold, so I arrived home to find my mailbox full of mail, and its door hanging open. Assholes.

More positively when I arrived at home, my neighbor’s cat was sitting in my yard and for the first time ever did not run away as I walked near her.

I also had to unpack my tent when I arrived home because I realized that, like an idiot, I left my eyeglasses in it when I packed it. Fortunately it was sunny so I could wear my sunglasses driving home. More fortunately I did not damage the eyeglasses as I rolled and packed the tent in Hartwell.

Oh, and the City finally picked up the yard waste that has been sitting on my curb for two months. I wish I had brought the half-filled bag that is sitting in my carport out to the curb. I didn’t do so because I thought it was pointless.

Today I will be getting out to WLF for some maintenance. With the arrival of Fall the weather has Takenaka turn toward cooler temperatures, so I need to assess what is out there and take action.

Tonight’s hash is supposedly near my house, not as near as Brownwood Park, but near enough for me to attend. Further, I brought home some supplies for Sanitary Not that I need to bring to her tonight as well. So, look as as if I will be hashing again…

I hope that you had a great weekend.

I didn’t even unpack the majority of my car last night—my reasoning being it would be easier to unload and spread stuff out after the husband left for work this morning. That did make me miss an opportunity to practice driving 🤣 the CR-V this week however, as he had planned to take the Accord to work. Whoops.

I really don’t think you could have asked for better weather. Glad you had a good time.

Most of our weekend was spent celebrating Debbie’s 55th birthday. Take out sushi Friday, dinner out with hunt friends Saturday evening, and early dinner with work friends last night. The work crowd- 3 including Debbie, had been eating sugar all day, so needed some protein for dinner. Yes, she worked on her actual birthday! Poor planning on someone’s part.

I did get out on my scooter Saturday- breakfast in Harralson, a car show in Senoia (also to see a friend who had a car in the show) and shopping in Newnan.

On tap today- a visit to the dermatologist, where I’m afraid they will be taking out a chunk of my chest- a growth I don’t think they will approve of.

Great weather & weekend. Rode Friday, hiked Saturday (skipped the hash when I heard there was deep enough water that it could include swimming). Sunday was Wheelhopper, just a ride on the trails at Payne’s Creek, I think they laid 6-8 marks total.

Then, after a long weekend of drinking, ended up at El Azteca drinking margaritas with Bouncing Boobs, Pen, Davey, ChewChew, Deposit & Oops. Didn’t really need that.

Today I’m headed up to hike to the Len Foote Hike Inn with Sharon. She’s in town from FL (they moved back again) so the weather is perfect, figured why not. I’m tired, but we have all day to get there.
Need to get the laundry done before I leave.

Dang Steve, hope the critter on your chest is nothing to worry about.

What a beautiful weekend! Weather was perfect for any outdoor activities. Travis did well again in his race, he got 32nd out of 105 riders. Pretty good.
Sunday after chores I went on a OneWheel ride in the beer triangle. I logged 14 miles with 3 beer stops, good times!
Sorry I missed Wheelhopper but driving all the way up there for an 8 mile ride just wasn’t in the cards.
Looks like the rest of the Hartwell campout was a success though.

  5. Morning choring done — cleaned up some, did a little harvesting for lunch. Going to relax, make lunch, then do some indoor choring this afternoon.

Just arrived at the Hike Inn. Now to hurry up & wait until dinner at 6.
5 miles and some weird back pain. Maybe it’s because I have a heavier pack then usual. At least I hope that is all it is. It’s a gorgeous day to be outside.
