The unofficial water capture amount from overnight Monday through this morning is somewhere in the neighborhood of forty gallons. As I mentioned yesterday my free fifty-five gallon rain barrel is now filled to its maximum (mostly from previous rains), as is the thirty-three gallon garbage can, as well as a couple of five gallon buckets. Additionally I filled about fourteen one gallon jugs and a couple of 2.5 gallon containers. And a little more rain is on the way?

Last night I did something that I have not done in far too long — I got on my bicycle. No, I didn’t pretend that I was riding Paris-Roubaix by riding outside, instead I popped it onto my trainer and spun for about an hour. I hope that I continue to exercise and perhaps work off a few pounds over winter. Don’t get me wrong, I will attempt to ride outside if I can, but I am such a cold weather wimp that it’s far more likely that I will be spinning the cranks indoors instead of outdoor starting next month.

After I hopped off the bike and changed clothes I made dinner. I made a basic fry up of vegetables and the last two veggie hotdogs in the package. I’m thrilled to say that the vegetables — yellow bell pepper, green beans, okra, potatoes — were all products of WLF. 🎉🎉🎉 With dinner I drank a Lagunitas IPNA. No, that’s not a typo, the beer was “non-alcoholic” IPA, but unfortunately also rather tasteless. Not that I intend to give up alcohol, but I always hope that one day I will find a decent tasting non-alcoholic beer. The other thing about the non-beer was that I had to show ID at Publix to buy it. 🤔

While getting served ads during “Only Murders in the Building”, which I can’t recall seeing ads previously, I attempted and failed once again to qualify for a paid survey. I think that I am done providing Jackson Associates with free data by answering all of their questions prior to being told that the quota has already been met. I know I am not the desired demographic for marketing firms, but I a, buying food regularly, sometimes spending decent amounts of money in the process. Just sayin’…

Today I need to get back on the iOS development train. I have restarted the 100 Days of Swift and 100 Days of SwiftUI tutorial series, and will identify an app that I will scratch an itch of mine in order to be forced to write real code.

This afternoon I will also be making a quick trip down to Aldi to pick up a few essentials. I am trying desperately to manage my grocery shopping habits better so that I don’t wind up with a completely filled refrigerator, freezer, and cupboard again.

Tonight is my turn to provide a Top Chef Dinner Night meal as Betsy and I resume our weekly gatherings. I have decided to make some Beyond bratwurst with sauerkraut for us, you know, to celebrate Oktoberfest right after it has completed in Germany.

Hope that you are remaining well.

    More chores today. Woo hoo.

I hope all those rain barrels, buckets, etc. don’t attract more mosquitos. I need your firepit!

    • 1. There is no way more mosquitoes could inhabit my yard.
      2. The smoke and fire will help keep them away.
      3. I have copious amounts of mosquito repellent spray.
      4. Let’s think positively!!!

Can’t wait to start burning wood and drinking beer.

The last Games meeting for the pre-event is in the books. What a PITA it is to get there from home… I left just at 4:20 due to a late meeting and having to feed everyone as Debbie is on the road. Arrived at about a quarter to 6. Not bad considering, just a lot longer than the drive home and no time for the pre-meeting meeting at Iron Horse.

Good on you for riding! I should have and did actually think about it for lunch yesterday. That’s as far as I got. Today will be different.

Daily trips to SMP start tomorrow. Next Wednesday, I’ll move to a HI Express where I’ll stay until the following Monday when we tie a bow on it for another year.

We plan all year and in the blink on an eye, it’s over.

My sister & I spent a few hours with mom going thru clothes, trying to downsize the amount of shirts & sweaters in 2 chests of drawers. We did pretty good, 2 large garbage bags filled. She still has Plenty of clothes. Found her wedding dress, may see if she can model it for us today. Today we will mess with a closet or 2. The goal is to clean out 1 of the 2 bedrooms for my brother to potentially move in some day. (Condensing everything into one room)
My sister still thinks moving them to a “home” is a better option than Tom moving in, but I’m not so sure. The cost is so crazy (close to $5000 a month for unassisted) & I don’t know at this point if they’d take them, I think they may need some assistance. (Haven’t priced that option)
    Good times, good times.

Paul, they didn’t like me for the Jackson surveys either. Davey got in on the salty snack one. I’m bummed, I like snacks!

I loved the various sun angles… made it look other worldly.
