On the road again…

I have to tend to some sonly duties this morning, delaying my departure. So, when you read this it’s highly likely that I am on the road.

I don’t know if my journey home will include a stop in Gainesville because I have already purchased a lot of beer to transport home with me.

The weekend was quite productive, spending time with my mother, brother, and sister in law. That being said, I am not in the greatest of mindsets at the moment. Such is life…

I went to bingo with my mother yesterday. Of course I lost; she won one game, earning back a little money paid out.

Last night my mother and I ate at a place called “Shorty & Pete’s Iowa Tavern”. I was hoping to eat some Iowa delicacies and drink Iowa beer. Alas the I only thing close was a sandwich called a “loose meat sandwich”, which I ordered and ate, along with some fried cheese curds with it. The beer I drank was a local Cigar City Jai Alai IPA.

Florida has convinced me that I shall never live here again. I heard someone say that she hoped we could get Biden impeached and Trump back in office because he did a good job and that things were going better than. This person also went on to say that she wasn’t going to let the government dictate to her that she get vaccinated. Maybe the constant exposure to sun makes people delusional?

After this weekend I need to start preparing to get a job in 2022 because I spent a lot of money. I even decided to not mention the $20 I lent to my mother before bingo — it’s as if I were still earning an income!

It looks like I have clear skies for my drive home. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there are no accidents near or ahead of me, and that traffic flows smoothly along my long trip.

Hope your weekend was eventful and fun.

Visits with elderly parents are always stressful. But, it’s good to do it.

In Cedar Rapids we call it a MaidRite, but that’s the name of the restaurant. Or, a Sloppy Joe, but that’s a canned sauce name. It was something we ate a lot as kids, as we rarely went out to the MaidRite.

Have a non eventful drive home.

Good to hear the visit went well.

I remember seeing signs for loose meat sandwiches when I visited Ms. Nebraska. I figured a sloppy joe or similar…

Opening hunt was Saturday. I counted 31 in the fields and that doesn’t count at least 5 staff. I got a few nice pictures, but we didn’t see the field much. They dispatched a coyote early, then had a trail ride.

Sunday started at WH, then a visit to Lowes to pick up more plumbing pieces and the water heater. Apparently, horses don’t like to be bathed in cold water- who knew? We got home and instead of plumbing, I worked on pulling the old fence line out of the neighbors pasture. As they owned both sides of the fence, it didn’t matter where the fence ran, but since it was sold to neighbor Steve, it sort of split his property. It needed to come out anyway, as the wires were broken and it was overgrown in places. The posts were recalcitrant, so I needed Debbie’s help to run the tractor while I operated the chain.
We saved the posts as most were in good condition and maybe Steve will reuse them for the real property fence.

    More plumbing today. Whoopee.

I had a fun weekend hashing, biking and drinking beer. Sadly, without my usual partner in crime. 😁 I even got most of my (big) chores done before the husband came home
this morning. 😂 Just walked some errands and got my 10,000 steps in. Not sure if I will make it to Moonlight tonight or not.
