It’s a SLUTty Thursday, perhaps. This month’s SLUT hash is in Cabbagetowm so I should attend, but I am unsure at the moment.

Yesterday I spent a good amount of time in WLF. I leveled out a small patch, 2’x8′, of land into which I constructed a new planting bed using concrete blocks. I filled the bed with cardboard for weed suppression and then with some Lowe’s-bought compost and manure. The intent for this bed is bean growing, and I’m deciding what I want to plant into the bed before that time arrives. Whatever I plant should be out out the grown by bean planting time. Later in the day I sowed some radish and lettuce seeds, and placed them into the new greenhouse. I decided not to track dow the tree guys and ask for their chips, mostly because I’m not ready for such and operation and don’t need to keep adding chores to my list.

Once done with choring I cleaned up my act and a made a quick run to Aldi for a few items, mostly for last night’s dinner. Dinner was Taco Night which, except for the Beyond Meat crumbles sticking hard to Betsy’s pan, was a success.

Today I will be spending more time in WLF (I should probably work on being employable again at some time). I have more cleanup to do, preparation of the new metal raised garden bed, some more seed sowing, and maybe even wood chipping. So. Much. To. Do! which is why tonight’s hash is an uncertainty for me. (Bonnie, when you decide please let me know.) I need to get exercise in order to work off the large pancake breakfast I just finished eating.

Hope all is going well in your world and you are remaining healthy.

I solved today’s Wordle in 3 attempts.

I’m still not doing Wordle, but I did solve the NYT mini crossword in 2 and a half minutes.

Since the president of the bank has been having “network issues”, I thought it wise to watch his live Town Hall webex presentation yesterday with my wireshark. The first thing out of his mouth, “Well, I’ve been having technical issues, so I hope I can get through this.” NO PRESSURE! Everything seemed to go as planned and he was pleased, so I guess I can keep my job a while longer!

I decided to take Debbie out for dinner somewhere tonight for VD, as doing it next Monday seems a little foolhardy, as well as I think choices will be limited. Unsure where we might go.

I have a Zoom meeting tomorrow with the Healthy Brain study folks. The on site has been replaced with this Zoom call, but the blood draw and MRI will still be in person. Oh. What. Fun.

    • I honestly don’t think Wordle is great, other than writing my own version will be beneficial for my employment possibilities.

I hear there is a good waffle place near you… lol

I’ve tried Wordle, but I’m too impatient to try to think of words on my own, so I end up doing some googling some of the time. (like, 5 letter words that end in ER, etc.)
I will never post it on the FB. One of my fiends started answering every post with a trophy emoji.

I get to train the newer guy than me again today, its fun training when you don’t really know exactly how to do some things.

I will not be able to go to SLUT. 🙁 I’ll text you about some other weekend plans, Paulie.

Decent hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park yesterday. It was a slow one, as I was teaching the husband to use his new trekking poles. It hasn’t taken. Yet.

This morning I have a 2-hour at-home online gig listening to music clips from 10:00am – noon to earn $100. Woot! They were supposed to send me a test yesterday to ensure my computer works/is set up properly, but they haven’t…

    • Bummer. Okie doke. Probably better that I don’t go, though I may…

Hiking poles suck! Well, only because I can’t use them “properly”.

Rake in that cash! I keep looking for more options (other than getting a proper job, mind you) and failing. Wish I could start a podcast, YouTube channel, whatever — Wee Little Productions! (Probably a company already with that name…)

    • Barb says:

I’ve never had a hiking pole lesson, what are the rules?
I’m very curious, I’m sure I use mine wrong.

  3. Okay, coffee consumed, time to get choring!

  4. Bob says:

Skipping school to go skiing yesterday was epic! I had not skied in 20 years and it was like riding a bike. Basics were there but took a couple runs to get it all together. For what it is Cataloochee is awesome. The snow is nothing like out west but wasn’t a total ice rink either. Great times and I will be back.

    • Barb says:

You guys had a big group! how much did it cost?
has Travis ever skied or snowboarded?
did you ski or snowboard? I’d think with the one wheel, you’d be more to wanting to snowboard.

      • Bob says:

        Yeah, big fun group!
Lift tickets and ski rentals were only $85 so very affordable. We even did it as a day trip, left at 7am and was home around 9:30. We even stopped in Clayton for dinner. I would recommend a skip day to do it, I can only imagine how crazy it is on the weekend, more expensive too.
I have never snowboarded and didn’t want to do it on this trip as I was itching to ski. If I ever do a multi-day trip I will try boarding. Travis has not tried yet but he does want to, I need to take him somewhere to try it

      • I have never desired to ski, and I get enough cold weather living ITP.

    • Steve says:

Sounds great. I need to stay local and try it. My first ski experience was a half day on some knob in NC… then a week in Austria! Out of the frying pan and into the fire!!

    • Bonnie says:

Cool. I’ve been skiing at Cataloochee once, a long time ago. I think my skiiing days are over, but every once and a while I re-think that. Hmmmm…

      • Steve says:

We could do it! I just learned one of our hunt friends and good neighbor Steve just left this morning for Tahoe! I was thinking about that trip earlier this year when they were getting dumped on.

        • Barb says:

Skiing was much harder than I remembered when we went to vail a few years ago. Now that Aunt Lois doesn’t work for the City of Vail anymore, I know we can’t afford it.
I need to do some serious stretching & leg work before I go again.
But – that being said, I’d go again.

  5. Foreman has blown the lunch horn, so I am taking my lunch break. It’s been a decent morning of choring.
