Yesterday was a good day, except for the fact that I am still not able to exercise at will.

Bonnie had a paid survey in John’s Creek, so I joined her for the journey. Of course I has an ulterior motive… *twirls gray hair on face posing as a mustache* There was soil in thar hills!

After Bonnie was done getting paid to eat wafers, a survey I was fortunate to do a few weeks ago, we went to Lowe’s to cash in on a Fetch deal that rebated 100% of the cost of a specific bag of soil when purchased at Lowe’s. The deed was done, and even Bonnie jumped on it, donating her bag of soil to WLF.

From Lowe’s we needed lunch. Through the power of Google I found a place called Great Szechuan, and you know what, it was. Think Tasty China, but not quite as good. (I was going to as “or as cheap” but I have no idea how expensive TC is these days) We shared a plate of fried eggplant, and a plate of mapo tofu.

Next stop: Buford Highway Farmers Market. We wandered the store, trying not to dilly dally too much. I walked away with a basket of goodies costing me $69. It’s probably a good thing that neither of us thought to bring a cooler so we could buy refrigerated/frozen items.

I “went to the hash” last night. By that I mean that I drove to the start, did my own little mile walk, and then had a beer and half of a shrimp po boy sandwich. This inability to run is really cramping my hashing style.

Today is a choring day! I have an appointment at CHaRM to drop off recycling. Then it will be time to work hard in WLF for the day. It’s March 1st, spring is nearing!

Oh boy, I just saw that Netflix is raising their subscription cost again upon April 1st. What a shitty April Fools joke that will be. March could be the month I finally start reducing my recurring costs, perhaps Netflix will be one of the things jettisoned.

Hope you’re not having a Fat Tuesday.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts. I guessed the word on the fourth attempt, but didn’t know how to spell it properly, so I threw away a guess using a word containing many unused letter seeking more information.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 192.0 pounds (+4.6 from last week’s weigh-in); Fat Tuesday it is! Let the dieting, choring, and as much exercise as I can tolerate return today!

  1. Saddened every time I see my emoji destroyed.

Wordle in 5 for me too.

Wordle FAIL! Can’t these people speak American!

We have a house guest… 4 legged variety! I went for a run after work and wasn’t 200 yds down the road that I picked up a follower. A small boxer, full of energy, and thought we were playing a game. Lot’s of “go home” commands did little to dissuade him from following. “We” got home and our dogs were out as Debbie was feeding her horses. Everyone got along fine, so that was good. We had already planned a little dinner and shopping expedition, so we left. Upon our return, he was still hanging around, damnit. Would just barely sit still for a photo, but I managed a good face shot and a bit of a blurry side view. We got a late hit on Next Door and “Gunner” will be going home this morning. He spent a pretty quiet night in Lola’s box. He is a bit too high energy for us… we have a pretty sedate crew nowadays, but the boxer breed is a favorite around here.

After letting a whiny Ollie out (and Gunner) overnight, I fell asleep thinking of Brownie and how much I miss him. David, does your tech publisher do any childrens’ books? I think the Brown man may need a book- “The True Tales of Brownie Ain’t Stayin’ “.

I did my taxes yesterday, I guess taking over half the year off got us a refund.
Ok, that’s my story & I’m sticking to it.
Decided the email from Turbo tax saying I’d get a discount if I did the taxes by 2/28 worked. Paid less than $100 for both Federal & State.

  5. Steve says:

Gunner has rejoined his family. Debbie said the lady reported they paid $5k for him. As Debbie and I are well familiar with boxers, the words of P.T. Barnum come to mind… “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

    • Barb says:

holy crap – $5000 ??? that’s insane, with the number of dogs out there to adopt.

And I got wordle in 5, with a little help from Google (I had no idea that word & couldn’t come up with anything on my own that would work)

      • Steve says:

Cheater! (wish I had thought to do that!) I was sitting at 4 and just used my last guesses with the same word to quit. Funny, one of my guesses was ruble.

      • I would have had it in three, but then couldn’t spell it, so I went for a similar item with a similar spelling, obviously incorrectly.

  6. CHaRM done. Stop at Kroger at which I bought something that supposed to get me a $4 rebate, but the service is t recognizing it on my receipt. Ugh. It’s something I eat regardless, but I want my promised $4!

    Time for outdoor choring!

  7. David says:

I had my first post-surgery yoga class today. My teacher came to me for a private session. About half of it was char poses, half was standing poses. Good stuff for sure.

  8. Five hours of choring done, because I am whooped!

  9. Steve says:

Any time you want to come down and get some real farm work done, please let me know. 10 acres, plenty of room to play, and I’ll teach you to drive the tractor!
