After a long drive, made longer by a delay eleven miles south of I-675, and sadly devoid of a Buc-ees stop, I made it home and promptly rested all afternoon and evening.

I solved today’s Wordle in three attempts; my starter today was WHALE

  1. I don’t know why I expect WordPress to fix its inability to edit on an iPhone or fix its handling of Apple emoji. I’d investigate another blogging platform if blogging paid the bills.

I needed 5 tries today starting with NERVE. I need to get on my bike and ride soon. I joined a Meetup group that schedules 8 to 10 mile hikes every Sunday so I’ll be giving that a go in the new year.

You got the Wordle in 3? I was barely able in 6! That is not a word in my lexicon. I started with one of their favorite words, AUDIO which I shan’t do again.

A VERY quiet day yesterday hopefully followed by an equally quiet day today. Had I not run out of daylight and motivation, I would have finished the farm sign mounting. As it was, I just need to hang the sign from the cross post, which is all set to be dropped on the vertical posts. Still have to make the name sign, but that will take some photocopy magic to enlarge my stencil.

Boxing Day hunt starts at 11 and I will join them afterwards for “breakfast”.

    • Fortunately my first two guesses yielded four misplaced letters. After thinking for many minutes I was able to come up with the answer, but not before I almost played a word that was an answer not very long ago!

I gave up on Wordle – had to get Google to help.

Watched Glass Onion on Netflix Monday night – its the “sequel” to Knives Out. Not really a sequel – as the only character that is in both is the Daniel Craig detective Benoit Blanc. Good murder mystery if you like those kind of movies. Had to go back & watch Knives Out last night.

a friend mentioned that The West Wing is running on the cable channel HLN. I can’t find it streaming – so I’m recording it. There are 7 seasons – I’m going to need to delete some other stuff possibly. I did move the wireless DVR into my office, so I can listen/watch while I’m working – its a slow work week.

    • Steve says:

I’ve got WW recording as well. It does make me long for a Bartlett administration! And these also prove to me my hearing is shite. When they were first running, we turned on closed captioning to catch all the dialog. Now that’s the only way I can keep up.

    • David says:

I haven’t watched either movie yet. I started watching The White Lotus last night, and it kept my attention. I haven’t ever seen the West Wing. I simply couldn’t during the Trump administration, and now, I just get enough politics from regular life, I can’t subject myself more.

Wordle in 4 starting with GONER. The placement of the “E” was useful.

I made us stay home from Boxing Day. Steve is coughing up a storm and I have a sore throat. It may be nothing, but going to a social gathering with a cough is so 2019.

I’m enjoying the WW reruns. It’s startling how young the actors look – 20 years sure went by in a flash. We also watched Glass Onion. Steve was underwhelmed, but I thought it was enjoyable enough.

Our meal service is on pause for a couple of weeks because I didn’t like the selections, so now I have to go to the grocery and plan actual meals – not a fan.

Looking forward to having our farm sign up! It’s been sitting in our office for 2.5 years. I need to get someone to create a digital version so I can do a logo.

    • Betsy and I are postponing dinner until at least tomorrow since we each brought home a cold from our journeys. I tested COVID negative this morning. I’m not surprised I caught something when you combine freezing weather, number of people I have been around since Friday, and the young child coughing up her own storm at the party I attended on Monday.

  6. I feel so GD fat (reference today’s Wordle starter) and need to figure out how I can get healthy again so I can exercise.

  7. Went into WLF again today. Garlic has a chance of survival, but everything else was killed by the hard freeze. Pity.

  8. Steve says:

Since we couldn’t make it to the hunt, the hunt came to us! The dogs went to defCon1 and Debbie said we had foxhounds in the front yard. I heard the huntsman’s horn and went outside. They were trying to gather hounds from the top of good neighbor Steve’s driveway. Tally ho!
