Still trying to exorcise the demons from my body so that I can exercise. I hate being sick, hate having nagging injuries, and really hate having both simultaneously; I suppose that I am not alone in this.

’tis the last blog post of 2022. Enjoy New Years and be safe my friends. Hope you will all return to join me for the ride that will be 2023.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was BISON

Wordle in 5 starting with SPACE.

I am starting the new year right with a bike ride on Sunday.

The Todd Rundgren album “Sometbing, Anytbing” comes to mind with regard to my own lack of exercise, although I did get one walk in this week. I have a much needed Thai massage today.

    • Excellent. I hope your ride is fun. What distance are you planning?

I am *assuming* that I will have shed this cold/crud by Sunday. I thought it had passed yesterday but then returned, which sucks because I was hoping to take advantage of todays weather by getting some compost at Lowe’s and spreading it through WLF now that virtually everything has perished.

I find it interesting how nonplussed I am that I will be skipping the January 1st Black Sheep hash.

Minty and I are riding. We haven’t picked a route yet, but we’ll probably ride 30 to 40 miles.

One way that I’ve been breaking through paralysis as of late is to just do the next thing, instead of looking at the entire thing. Case in point, maybe go to Lowe’s and get the compost? Once it’s on your premises then it’s that much easier to get it spread.

why do you need more bags of compost? Why not just wait until early spring? or why buy it at all? (note to self, me never buying compost might be why my vegetables don’t grow?)

        • Over time the compost in my beds shrinks, and the previous plants exhaust some of its nutrients. I continue to add beds to WLF as well. I am making my own compost, but it a slow process, hence the need to continue buying.

Wordle in 3 (!) starting with TREAD. A genius word in 2 and a tap in for 3.

17 miles yesterday seemed to do the trick. Still a little cough but mostly slept the night through. Debbie is on her way to the vet clinic taking Mickey for his travel papers. Apparently Florida really does check to make sure your papers are in order when traveling with a horse.

We laid out a riding ring yesterday and this morning I am waiting on a delivery of gravel to put as a base for the ring.

Watched Oklahoma and Florida State play last night. They were tied 32-32, how odd. It was a good game otherwise. I didn’t have a dog in the fight.

Technically, I’m on PTO today, but still watching my email.

Please stay safe on “amateur night” tomorrow and we meet up in a year.

wordle in 6 – I’m an idiot sometimes

  4. Ugh, I feel worse today than I did yesterday. So much for feeling right as rain today…

Wordle in 5 staring with AGENT.

Now it’s my turn to wait on the gravel guy. I’m so pumped to have an area with good footing to work the horses. It’ll also be very handy for sitting on one for the first couple of times, which can be dicey.

It’s going to break my heart to drop Mickey off to be sold. He’s like the really good-looking boyfriend who is mildly abusive. When he’s good, he’s my dream horse… but in the two times he’s been really bad, he’s broken five of my bones. I’m too old for that.

  6. Post Office has yet to deliver mail which includes paperwork for the hold. I wonder what mail was held, I’d have to look for my informed delivery emails, and if I will once again have to go to the post office and get my mail.
