I may be crazy, I am going to do a Silver Comet bike ride today attempting to beat the rain. If I were riding solo I’d not chance it, but I am committed. I hope I have as much luck as I did with Wordle today.

I solved today’s Wordle in two attempts; my starter today was FANCY

  1. A third robins egg is now on the ground. Either there is a gaping hole in the near, or the Robin abandoned her eggs and another bird has pushed them out to squat in the nest?

Wordle in 5. Nice work on the deuce.

A wet bike ride on the Comet is much better than the road. You will have the place to yourselves.

After another crazy day at the office, I was glad to be home. My laptop has a bad port and the HP guy was onsite to fix it, only the new board was faulty, so he had to put the original back in. It was pretty much a CF.

40 minutes on the trainer while watching some race from Spain. The riders complained that it was a dangerous descent to the finish. Grow up. Do your job. Ride your bike.

I think Bora is doing well, or a Bora rider did well?
Mary mentioned that last night – as Kevin is working that race.
Katrina took the kids to Costa Brava for a few days of spring break (looked like a fun few days). Yes – we had dinner with the in-laws last night.

Well done on the Wordle! My experience today was brutal. Nailed the first three letters in one. And then commenced Wordle roulette, no more matches until I was put out of my misery in 4.

Stare that rain down and ride. That’s what I do. And yes, Steve’s right, you’ll probably mostly have the place to yourself.

  4. Barb says:

I think the rain will hold off.

Subaru is making a new noise that is concerning, so dropped it off at the shop last night. They will let us know – Allan wanted to take the moto to work, but the threat of rain tomorrow – he’s not a wet weather rider. Truck hasn’t been moved in a while – so, it’s good to get it out of the garage.

Thinking about going to Hankook tonight for Korean tacos for our anniversary dinner – made it 21 years! Since he’s working – its half way between our 2 locations.

    • steve says:

I always forget your anniversary is a day before ours. A very happy anniversary to you both!

You’re right, I think a Bora rider won that stage. It was a bit sketchy coming into the finish, but they saw it in the other direction earlier in the race… c’mon!

      • Barb says:

I can remember your anniversary – as it is also my Dad’s birthday. He will be 93 tomorrow. My older brother from WI will be visiting. I got him a new robe & pajamas last week (did y’all know stores do not sell what I call old man pajama sets anymore? As in a shirt with buttons. Had to order off Amazon)

    • Jenka says:

Happy, happy anniversary, Barb! And Steve!

    • David says:

      Happy anniversary, y’all!

It’s more likely that a squirrel got to the nest, especially if it’s in a bush.

Benefits of working for a school of theology, I get tomorrow off (Good Friday)! I could really use a three day weekend. I don’t begrudge anyone believing in a mythical sky god if I get a free day off!

My car is giving me the “Time for B7 maintenance” warning. I don’t know what B7 is but I’m coming up on 10,000 miles so I assume it’s regular service.

    • David says:

I saw the best George Carlin bit last night about the “invisible man in the sky who is all powerful, all seeing, and all knowing, but somehow he just can’t manage his money and always needs more.” 😉

  6. Barb says:

Wordle in 2 – using Paulie’s start word Fancy!!!
    How lucky is that?
Mini – nothing fast there at all.

    • David says:

Kudos on the Wordle! I forgot to report Mini in 33. 😉

      • Barb says:

I will never be good (aka fast) at crosswords – but I try.

        • David says:

Never say never! Facileness at crosswords has a way of sneaking up on you. I am 18 puzzles away from completing 2,000 full-size NYT crosswords. The app doesn’t give stats on the number of Mini’s completed.

          • Barb says:

I don’t have the patience for big crossword puzzles.

          • David says:

Oh, I totally get that. Crosswords have helped me come a LONG way with regard to developing patience. They’re also good for channeling the crazy energy that my brain has.

  7. At Rockmart, the turnaround point. Will get about 51 miles today, and may stay dry except for my sweat.

  8. Debbie says:

Wordle in 3 starting with LEASH. Great job on the 2.

Happy Anniversary Barb! I may have forgotten that ours is tomorrow and planned a hunt happy hour gathering. Steve will be milking that one for awhile. It gets him out of buying a fancy dinner though!

Puppy housebreaking is not going as well as I hoped. Googling to improve my method. She’s hyper alert so when she’s outside she gets really distracted and forgets the mission. Fencing the yard can’t happen soon enough.

    • Barb says:

We rarely go out for a fancy dinner – so, just going out at all is enough.

      • steve says:

It gets me out of buying fancy dinner? Since WHEN???

AND she thought it was 16 years because she thought we were married in 2007, but we were married in 2006 (4/7 when I was 47). I’m 64, so then it’s 17 years.

  9. steve says:

I was going to buy fancy dinner AND TC.

I launched the Roomba (Igor) and Fig, the puppy, is facinated.

  10. Ate a burger and fries for lunch, with a lovely Imperial IPA at a strange burger joint in Powder Springs called SAC. Now home, and worn the F out. Glad I have nothing to do the rest of today.

  11. David says:

I rode my racing bike back to my mechanic’s to retrieve my car. This ride went much better, so I no longer feel like I fell off of a cliff over the winter. Phew!
