Last week YouTube was kind enough to suggest that I watch Taskmaster Australia, one of the variants of the British show of the same name. Someone has uploaded the yen episode season, so I started watching. Last night i fell asleep watching the seventh episode. Unfortunately when I awoke discovered that it, as well as the other nine episodes have been removed from YouTube due to copyright claims. Dangen! I should have predicted this and downloaded the episodes first.

I need to get all my choring done by noon today because the HVAC company has a 12-5 window to come out to service (routine maintenance) my unit.

Unfortunately the weather forecast for Rutledge this weekend continues to look worse. As of now I am seeing a prediction of 2.3″ of rain, all falling during the time we will be there camping. I’m trying to be optimistic, but you all know that is not one of my strengths.

I considered sabotaging the Moonlight hash last night, but I like the hare so I didn’t. I was surprised when a group of hashers arrived at my house and implored me to show up at the end, so I did.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was SLIDE.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 196.2 pounds (-0.8 from last week’s weigh-in)

Wordle in 3 starting with LEAST. Mini in 1:04.

This article made me happy to see that late night dining options are creeping back into Atlanta: https://atlanta.eater.com/2023/4/10/23677097/moonlight-pizza-opens-late-night-little-five-points-atlanta I didn’t know that location started out as a Fellini’s back in the day. I was too uptight back then to frequent L5P, especially with Buckhead at my disposal. We did start making forays into EAV though.

    • I always think of it as a Fellini’s, mostly because of the vibe inside. I didn’t realize that Little 5 Pizza had closed, but that’s because I haven’t drank in L5P very much in a long while.

Mini was not my friend -I had to use the google. I had no idea some of the answers.
Wordle – got super lucky – got it in 3.

  2. Steve says:

Wordle in 4 starting with SATIN.

Officials slowly rolling in from all over. Dinner with 3 others at a noodle place nearby. The boss got in late last night and we have registration and meetings today with racing tomorrow.

My partner Sam did not get selected for a jury, so he’s back at work and that’s one less thing for me to worry about.

you went to the end of the hash last night? what? 😉
    where did it end?

Saw on FB that Benny’s son Hunter is going to be out at STU & wants to meet up with us.(he died a year ago on 4/8)
Michael Lachowski said he might make an appearance as well.
Hoping the rain forecast changes – but at least the temps won’t be too bad, & we have canopies & pop ups – I think we will be ok.

Right now I’m thinking about working on Friday – since I can monitor most stuff from my phone, I can be social & just go get on the computer when I need to. I tested out my phone’s hotspot & everything works fine on the laptop.

    • David says:

And yes, kudos, Paulie on joining the hash. As far as I can tell from the morning headlines, the world didn’t end when you did that. Whew! 😉 I’m totally joking here, and seriously, good on you to go. That’s the way forward. Here’s to new memories and new experiences. We’re of an age where there’s so much stuff in our heads that there’s not room for everything, so out with the old and in with the new

    • I considered hashing, but didn’t go. The hash (Jackass and others) came to my house, and he told me the coast was “clear” and convinced me to go up to Grant Central Pizza.

I actually had a conversation with Coffee Bean last night. It’s been a long time since I have seen him.

The funniest thing was that I got a down-down for too long, and someone said “Why does he have a Black Sheep hoodie if he’s never done one?” LOL!!!

  4. Jenka says:

I’ve mentioned the pizza place closing here because it was noteworthy that both Cameli’s and Little 5 Pizza closed within months of each other. Savage must be doing even better business! They are always slammed, anyway. We are Savage people (if ordering delivery) or Fellini’s (if going out for pizza) so it doesn’t affect us.

It was mercifully calm and quiet in our house last night, with not a single mention of Super Mario. Our current not-Finn-appropriate TV watch is Succession. It’s good, but I don’t think it’s as amazing as people make it out to be.

    • Barb says:

I’m sensing you are a little tires of Super Mario? I get that, glad you had a quiet night.
I’m not watching Succession -as we don’t have HBO Max.
Someday, when we get caught up with all the other things to watch, we may finally sign up for HBO Max.

      • David says:

Barb, who is your cell phone plan through? I get HBO Max for free as part of my AT&T cell phone plan.

And Jenka, I agree that Succession isn’t all that. It’s fine, but it’s a bit overwrought. I do think it’s pretty evocative of Glengarry Glen Ross, so it might work for a certain ITP reader.

Savage Pizza has never been on my radar. I used to have it occasionally when my kids went to a Montessori school up the street, but it never grabbed me. I somehow went through a Fellini’s drought for about 17 or 18 years, only rarely eating at it, but I realized what the hell, it’s always been my favorite pizza and now I have dinner there at least once every other week, sometimes more often than that.

        • Barb says:

we have Verizon, and get Hulu, Disney+ & ESPN+.
          No HBO Max.

Speaking of Pizza, we went to Pizzeria Lucca in Roswell last night. Monday & Tuesday they let you BYOB. Pizza is a thin Italian style (similar to Antico) that comes out in about 5 minutes. Its very tasty.

          • David says:

Oh, that’s because AT&T does or did own Warner Bros, which owns HBO. I can’t keep track of the corporate conglomerations and spinoffs any more.

        • I have had the same AT&T plan for at least a dozen years. I should call them and bitch as to why I get Jo free streaming services…

          • David says:

Um, it really pays to check their offerings on their web site periodically. You can get a more features and sometimes pay less money just by spending a few minutes on their site. For instance, I moved to a plan that has unlimited data, which with two teenagers in the house is an absolute godsend, and it was cheaper than what I was paying before. They have no reason to tell you that there’s a better plan, they’ll just let you keep paying what you’re paying. Note to self: Check the current AT&T plans.

          • David says:

I didn’t find a better AT&T deal, but I’m glad I checked because you never know.

    • I missed you mentioning L5P pizza closing.

I have been watching Succession at Betsy’s. So far we’ve gotten through Season 1, and I think that it’s very good. David, you are correct! 😉

  5. Barb says:

We went for a hike at Gold Branch (one of the many Chattahoochee parks) with a friend & his dog last night. He’s having some sort of heart valve surgery in a few weeks, and the doc told him no mtn biking. So, we went hiking (that technically might have been a little strenuous, but he said the doctor didn’t tell him he couldn’t hike, but of course he didn’t ask either).
It was a beautiful night out.

  6. After killing three more zucchini plants, I’ve plugged the rest into the soils outside and am going to let them fend for themselves.

  7. Back inside (pity, it’s so nice out!), showered, and have eaten lunch. Awaiting arrival of HVAC company to do my semi-annual service.

  8. HVAC guy running late, so I rescheduled for a week from Thursday. Don’t want to be held hostage and potentially miss tonight’s bike ride.
