I can’t recall if I mentioned it here properly, but I signed up for a rain barrel workshop through the City of Atlanta’s Watershed Management department. Today I will go and pay $40 to make a rain barrel, and take it home with me from the workshop. WLF will love having another water store. The only odd thing about the workshop is that it is scheduled from 11am-1pm, a time generally regarded as “lunch time”, so I am going to have to plan my eating accordingly or bring a snack.

Today ends the nice weather portion of the week for this part of the country. I have to admit that I was really looking forward to Spring Tune Up, the last of my emotional hurdles, until the weather forecast turned to shit. I’ll make do with whatever happens, but I know that I am not the only one who was really hoping for much better weather. I guess I need to spend part of my day planning the food that I will need to bring to Spring Tune Up.

I solved today’s Wordle in six attempts; my starter today was NERVE.

  1. In discussions with Betsy I apparently successfully played a word today that is supposedly not in the NYT Wordle Word List. Dylan was right, The Times they are a’changing.

Managed to get Wordl in 6. I had the 3 middle letters but too many words use those same middle letters. I too was hoping for better weather for this week-end. Maybe it’ll only rain at night so we can get the rides in. Saturday looks great so we can at least get one good ride in. I need to pack and make a grocery list as well. Hope Bob learned something from his chainsaw school.

    • David says:

Ooohhhh, chainsaw school sounds like fun!!!!

      • Barb says:

I asked Allan if they teach a chainsaw class at the firehouse – he laughed. He’s had to teach many a rookie about chainsaws. (kids today, most have zero skills when it comes to that sort of thing)

  3. Barb says:

As I watched the local news for a minute this morning – it seems like the rain will be just Thursday afternoon & on Friday.
I never 100% trust the forecast – I just hope it hold of long enough to get set up.

    • I keep checking the Rutledge forecast. I see rain Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Franklin won’t be happy with my early arrival but I definitely want to get my tent set up prior to any rain.

      • Barb says:

Allan wants to leave 0900am-0930 – I said MAYBE 0930 – probably closer to 10. Traffic right now is only 1 hour 20 minutes, and with the camper it will be a little slower, but I don’t want to get there too much before 1200.

    • Jenka says:

Yeah, they have been so wrong lately about when it is and isn’t going to rain. Like David said the other day, I look at the temp and don’t give any credence to the rest of the forecast.

  4. David says:

Wordle in 5. PURGE got me one correct letter and then I had 2 correct letters and then no more even misplaced letters until I had ruled out enough of the alphabet.

Alrighty, time to hit the salt mine.

  5. Barb says:

I got Wordle in 4 – good guess
Mini – 1:21- just couldn’t get a couple of the clues quick enough

  6. Jenka says:

Oof! Sorry my Wordle start word didn’t serve you better!

We went to Sotto Sotto last night, which was pretty good. Now we are about halfway through the second season of Succession and will have to put it on hold until Sunday.

  7. Steve Brady says:

Wordle FAIL! Middle 3 were just teasing me!

Registration and meetings all day yesterday. Almost 400 riders between men and women. 179 men to start.

After all the people time, I went to dinner alone and was happy to do it.

    – FP

  8. There are at least 30 people here, even though the City advertised the event as having 10-15 people.

  9. Barb says:

now Mango is texting me about the weather tomorrow…… I’m like – ummmm, we hope the weather man is wrong, and then we just deal with it?

    • There is nothing we can do but make the best of it. It can’t be worse than the first STU I attended in Madison, when the only riding we did was to see Michael play DJ at the Happy Hour.

      • Barb says:

that was the rainiest STU – sitting under that pop-up, trying to not let the weight of the water break it. (we have noodles to put in the popup corners this year – that will keep it from raining to hard)

And Michael getting “fired” because Franklin didn’t like his playlist – so we got to go to dinner earlier than expected!

  10. Just hit a very rough pothole. This city is brutal on its cars.

    • Home. Going to let my car tires cool, check all of their pressures, and then keep my fingers crossed that the loud noise created by the pothole is the only ramification of hitting it.

  11. Barb says:

Met Annette to sit outside for lunch – had a chicken salad sandwich at the Red Eyed Mule. Not bad chicken salad at all.

  12. Debbie says:

Wordle in 3 starting with BRUTE. I read the blog before playing so I knew it was an uncommon word.

Foal watch is on. Since the puppy goes out every couple of hours, it’s not that much different. I’m already thinking that leaving her in the field overnight is too stressful for me. Finding her in the dark isn’t that bad, but I can’t imagine handling the bitch in the pitch black night, especially if it’s raining.

She’s two weeks overdue and freaking ENORMOUS! I’m concerned that it’s going to be a difficult birth because the baby is so large.
