I want to thank everyone for your kind words and support.

I made it as far as Gainesville yesterday. My brother and sister in law did as well, and we had a nice dinner together.

The real work starts today.

Have an incredible weekend, friends.

Wordle: three, my starter was STAGE. Might have gotten a deuce had I started with the word I initially was going to use.
Connections: perfect, Blue > Green > Purple > Yellow

Wordle in 4 starting with HIKER. Two mistakes in Connections trying to get that blue category. Yellow, green, blue, purple.

Sucked at trivia last night. But David, the main guy that runs the place, brought a new bottle of Tequila. He is trying to educate us on the fine tastes for Tequila.

Leaving this morning for a 6 day backpacking trip starting 75 miles north of Damascus and going 90 miles on the AT. It’s our annual Sweater Sisters trip. Weather looks decent. Turning the water off at my house and hoping for the best.

Take care of yourself Wee. I will be thinking about you.

I had some Clasa Azul tequila at that golfing boondoggle last week. It’s that fancy expensive tequila in a porcelain bottle with a bell on the top. Super smooth.
Good tequila is good, problem is most of us start with the terrible stuff and it turns us off of it for a long time.

Where did you play trivia? My husband was at trivia with his co-workers at Lasseter’s.

  2. Bob says:

I’m happy for you to have the family around. Best of luck getting everything sorted down there.
Don’t forget to take care of yourself.

Wordle in TWO! I won’t tell you what my starter word was. And then a 100 perfect complete whiff on Conniptions. I knew ALL FOUR categories but could not get the right combinations. What is the purpose if I was able to make the “connections” they wanted to then throw in so many combination words? Fuck that game.

As aforementioned Kevin was at trivia last night so I took Finn to Osteria for dinner. Then we went home and watched the Paw Patrol movie on Prime. Tonight I have a celebratory work dinner — remember the big accreditation visit at work a couple of weeks ago? The 5 of us who did all the work are having a nice dinner at Kevin Rathbun Steak. Yes, I got to pick the restaurant. Tomorrow Kevin and I have fancy mani-pedi appointments at Lark & Sparrow. Treat yo’self!

Wordle in 3 and one letter off from a deuce.

The news from Auburn is ligament damage in a back leg. No riding for 2 months and recheck. Debbie is very sad her A horse can’t play and she’s selling her B horse, with potential buyers coming this weekend. A shopping opportunity? Perhaps.

Debbie was right- you forget the trailer is even back there when you tow- there is so much truck. And when you use the turn signals, the cameras on the back corner come on to show you what’s in the blind spots! Very cool.

35 minutes steady on the trainer last night.

Thinking of you and the family, Paulie.

  5. David says:

This covid bullshit SUCKS. I haven’t been sick since before the pandemic and I am clearly out of practice. Super rough night of coughing. Fortunately it responds to muscinex. No word games yet.

Take care with your travails, Paulie.

  6. Jenka says:

Paulie, I hope your day is going as well as can be expected. I was in your shoes last year and it is not fun.

Good morning (it still barely is morning) from Carmel.
Got up too early, but hey, there’s a 3 hour time difference, so went to Walmart at 6:15am to buy a couple cheap pillows. Hotel has these horrible (to me) synthetic down pillows, that are soooo flat when your head is on them. I slept horribly. And- there’s a water feature outside our window that I could hear & it made me think I had to pee all night.
    😉
Then we went & drove around Monterey, checked out Cannery Row, drove a cool Ocean View Blvd road around the point. With barely any cars it was nice to get the lay of the land. We may go back over there, but it seems parking would be incredibly annoying (or expensive)
Just got back from an incredible hike at Point Lobos State Park.
I’ll be posting some pics on the FB. Or Instagram. Or both.

Getting showered & heading to Big Sur for a late lunch.
