Before the rain arrived this weekend I had to make an emergency transplant of some two-inch tall plants because the damn squirrels found them on the deck, and they started to nibble and kill them. Assholes. It was so damp on Saturday afternoon that I saw a large slug slowly slithering on the exterior of the ITP Estate. Given that it was nowhere near WLF, by slug standards, I thought it best to let it live.

I made a (fake meat) meatloaf last night for dinner, and roasted some potatoes in the oven while the meatloaf baked. I went a bit rogue with the meatloaf, adding green pepper and jalapeño peppers to the mixture. Why, because I have to use these before they mold… Lo and behold my meatloaf concoction was delicious! I was also going to attempt to make baked apples as a dessert, but wasn’t feeling that hungry so decided to pass on those.

When dinner was finally ready I started my Christmas show/movie watching for 2023; I watched “A Christmas Story”.

For my upcoming trip to Florida I had an idea to look into hashing there. While I didn’t expect Florida hashing to be the same as Georgia hashing, I did expect to be able to find out information about their trails without having to log into Facebook and join a private group. Oh well, no hashing for me.

Today I will be making the first of two days commuting to Sandy Springs. It’s like it’s the early 2000s again! On each of the next two days I will be participating in paid surveys. Tonight I will also be heading to Marietta to watch Survivor with Barb and Sal, so naturally I will be finding ways to kill time. Hell, I might even treat myself to a new iPhone for all of this hard work. Of course that would mean going into Perimeter Mall at this time of year. *shudder*

Wordle: three, my starter was REACH
Connections: perfect, Blue > Yellow > Green > Purple

I laid most of the weekend, it’s what was needed. I uncharacteristically been binging Suits so that I can finish it up and get back to not watching much TV again. I’m up to season 8.

Wordle in 4, no missed on Connections. My annual physical is today.

    Wordle in 4, connections perfect.

A mostly quiet weekend. The doctor was pleased with my labs, except the A1C, but gave me some simple things to do which should help. Friday night we went to the clinic’s Christmas party. 25 people or so divided up into 2 teams to play Taboo. It was kinda fun.

Saturday was a delayed start hunt. As I hadn’t been road whipping lately, I was greeted warmly and everyone asked how the Games went. Nice.

Sunday was a day for chores. We have a horse farm guest who Debbie will be returning to it’s owner for one of the masters on Wednesday.

Rode at least 40 minutes every day and there was a tough workout I wasn’t able to complete yesterday, which I will try again soon.

    • Nice. I have been forcing myself into the dungeon for an hour on the trainer about every other day. It’s of course made tougher when I am feeling less than stellar. At least I am catching up on The Amazing Race.

… and 2.5 inches of rain!

We had a group run from the store Saturday morning with BROOKS. I worked til 2 and then worked on designing my Christmas card as we have PhotoShop on the computer at work. Still behind on so much. I finally made a batch of Cranberry/Strawberry Jam. Many more to make. Survivor night tonight, GUTS holiday run and pizza tomorrow night, work holiday party Wednesday night, Trivia Thursday night, Dogs Friday night…..just not sure when I’ll get Christmas done. :).

Saturday night I ventured into Tucker for a birthday gathering. It was actually fun. It was nice catching up with so many. Sunday was laundry, jams, decorating and watching holiday movies. I really needed to go do some Christmas shopping but was too lazy to venture out.

Wordle in 4. I had the correct last 3 letters….was just a guessing game after that. Perfect connections, same as Paulie, Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple.

  5. Lunch today will be a meatloaf. I can’t eat too much however, since my paid survey at 2:15pm involves food.

It was a weekend! Friday we went to Six Feet for dinner. Saturday was Finn’s 18th birthday. We did errands during the day and finally got a Christmas tree. Then we went to Nakato which is our birthday tradition. Yesterday we went for mani-pedis and then Mexican food.

Over the weekend I caved and bought paper plates. Doing dishes in the bathtub is just not sustainable.

The elevator is out AGAIN at work. It’s so bad that we are going to replace it over the summer. 12 weeks of trudging up 5 flights of stairs, ugh.

    • Barb says:

well – look on the bright side – all that stair climbing will get you in better shape. But – you can still bitch about it – I would.

    • Sally says:

When I worked for the law firm, we were on the 10th floor. I hated the elevators and took the stairs every day. When we would have fire drills, I was always amazed at how hard it was for some people to walk the flight of stairs.

    • Jenka says:

Yes, I don’t mind taking the stairs really, it’s just that we had an event downstairs this morning so I had to go up them three times before 9:00 am. There was a time in my life, not that long ago, when I thought nothing of a 72-flight stair workout.

Only slightly interesting fact: I also worked on the 5th floor at my last job, so I have been on the 5th floor of one building or another since 2007.

busy but not busy weekend for us.

Friday night I opted to not drive to George’s.
Saturday I got most of my Christmas cards done & in the mail – I figured out I miss ordered, so I needed some more. Went into the Walgreen’s app – they don’t have my old order to be able to order more. Talked to Cust Serv – they said only if you order thru the web does it save your work. Thats Dumb. But – I found the same card & got 20 more printed.

Saturday night was the Hyox party – I don’t really know the people there anymore, and Allan barely does as he only works a few days a month. But – it was fun. Our hotel room the AC wasn’t working, so we got to move rooms when we got back from the party.

Sunday was a wasted day just doing stuff around the house, wasn’t really hungover, but just zero motivation. Watched too much football (damn Falcons were the Falcons & lost at the last minute to the Bucs) Got most of my clothes staged to put in a suitcase, since I fly out tomorrow night.

  8. Barb says:

    I was scared I wasn’t as smart as y’all –
    but – PERFECT – yellow – blue – green – purple

Wordle is 3 – that made me happy with my guessing

  9. Doing more legal followup today. With death certificates in hand I have reached out to the two organizations for which my mother received my father’s pension to inform them of her death.

  10. Just realized that I have yet to receive my Georgia State Park membership package in the mail. I should have renewed in person.

  11. Barb says:

Spaghetti sauce is started – as in – I have browned & seasoned the beef.
I’ll get the rest started a little later – I have some sauce, but the jar I requested from you will make it the right consistency. (I hope)
