The baseball game was fun, and the rest of my day was struggling with pain and hanging out with buddies. We went to a new to me brewery in Bradenton called Motorworks Brewing, which is near the stadium in which the Pirates play.

Wordle: four, my starter was CURVE
Connections: one mistake, Blue > Yellow > Purple > Green

  1. Strands was a struggle for me. I luckily found three incorrect words so that I could be given a hint, which cleared the fog.

  2. Sally says:

Wordle bust. Just couldn’t guess the right middle letter. No mistakes in Connections: yellow, blue, green, purple. I too had to use a hint to get me started on Strands.

Went to Travis’ soccer game last night. Light crowd. It was fun to watch and to hang out with Bob and Laura even though their friends thought I was Laura’s mom. Doh. That hurt. lol

I have the day off but the weather looks crappy for anything outside. Might be a wet sloppy run tonight at Kennesaw tonight.

    • Bob says:

Good to see you last night Sally! Travis didn’t play a lot but played well when he went in. Amy was pretty embarrassed by that but she often says things before thinking them through, she will be apologizing to us for the next year 🙂

    • Once your name is the Wordle answer it makes sense you’d fail the next day.

  3. Steve says:

Wordle in 5 and would have been 4 if I was paying attention.

Sally, that’s too funny about being Laura’s mom. (maybe not to you!!).

I decided yesterday that if I wanted anything that looked like a back yard, I would have to rake all the leaves off the fence line. I managed about half before I was wore out. This also exposes the hot wire, which will hopefully keep the dogs in.

Todays bit of excitement- I’m heading east on 10th street and waiting at the Spring St. light. 2 cars ahead of me I see a turn signal flashing to turn the wrong way on Spring- I think maybe his signal didn’t reset after he got off the freeway? Nope- turns onto Spring going the wrong way on a one way street!! At that time of the morning, there isn’t much traffic and he was stopped at the curb- maybe he figured it out?

Video of the Baltimore bridge collapse this morning!!! Holy crap! Talk about a house of cards.. that was quick.

    • Barb says:

that bridge collapse is CRAZY – and how many cars, trucks, people were on it?
The search this morning must be insane

      • Sally says:

I think they said 7 people were missing. 7 too many but it could have been a lot worse if during rush hour. I still can’t believe how quickly it collapsed. I never did like going over bridges even as a kid.

        • Barb says:

7 people they KNOW are missing – probably the construction workers. But – how can they know that’s it?

          • Steve says:

Traffic cameras are the first step. See what vehicles got on the bridge and didn’t get off. And the first guy to stop traffic and not go over the bridge gets a free laundry coupon from the DOT because you know he crapped his shorts.

      • Steve says:

Like Sal said- really lucky it was so early in the morning. Rush hour really would have been a mass casualty event.

        • Steve says:

And late word is the ship sent out a mayday and somehow, they were able to close the bridge! Not sure how you close an interstate bridge!

  4. David says:

Wordle in 3. I had a single partial match in 1, the last 4 letters nailed down in 2, and tapped it in the hole in 3. Clean Connections. Fuck that stupid Strands today.

Fellimi’s dinner last night, always good for my soul to catch up with s couple of my favorite people in tbe world. I met both of then during COVID but they feel like life long compadres.

    • David says:

Also, shout out to the City of Atlanta. I requested a bulk pickup of my tree branches for today, and as the Eagles once sang, “they’re already gone’”

  5. Barb says:

Strands – I like the hints – so I just find 4 letter words to get it all started.
I’ll mess with that & other games later.

I need to get ready for my Emory brain study cognitive test at 1pm – I will feel like I have dementia already when doing all the tests.

Trying to decide if we will venture down to Clayton State college to hear Dr PP sing tonight. If traffic isn’t bad – its only about 45 minutes.

  6. While I am still broken I am fortunate to at least be able to walk. Just finished five miles on a sunny, blustery morning.

  7. Jenka says:

Well, it was a great game last night, even if the Celtics lost. At one point in the second quarter the Celtics were up by 30 points! But then the Hawks came back after halftime with new energy and ended up winning by like 4 points. Very exciting!

SO wished I could have stayed in bed this morning. I am very tired and it’s raining.

  8. Jenka says:

Suddenly the font is different? I like it a lot!

  9. Debbie says:

Wordle in 3 starting with LAITY. One mistake in Connections – green, blue, yellow, purple. Strands with a couple hints – I don’t think I’m the target audience for that one. I have no shame about using the hints.

Only working 1/2 the day today so I can prep for tomorrow. I’m just now getting hangry, so my coworkers were spared my wrath and whining. Steve won’t be so lucky! My appointment isn’t until 3:45 tomorrow so I’ll have lots of awake time to be annoyed. My friend who is the founding vet at the clinic assured me she’s never having a colonscopy. Insert eye roll.

  10. Barb says:

survived the cognitive test for Emory – damn it makes me feel loke I have such a bad memory. Anyway – MRI & other appt for blood & lumbar set for May.
They ask if you want an Amazon or Walmart gift card now…..
