This trip has been far from a vacation, and I might need a week alone in Atlanta to recover. In addition to everything else, yesterday I was ill and it still lingers currently. Of course unlike every other trip, I will have my buddy Hank as a passenger with me tomorrow, so I hope all goes okay with that.

I’m slightly annoyed by the past two weeks, and more than that I am disappointed in “the universe” for dealing me setback after setback. I had such high hopes for this trip and am ready to pack it in. Hell, if not for business and personal commitments today, I’d be packing the car and heading out this morning.

Wordle: three, my starter was REALM
Connections: perfect, Yellow > Green > Blue > Purple

Sorry your trip has sucked. Besides not getting everything accomplished, you’ve been feeling poorly, which just adds to the suckage.

Debbie received a clean bill of health yesterday, so gets to do it all again in 3 years. We were done just before 5, then proceeded south through Peachtree City. Had Dante’ lived in PTC, one of the rings of hell he wrote about in “Inferno” certainly would have included the intersection of Ga54 and 74. I believe we sat through 5 light changes attempting to traverse that intersection. Light timing was unrelated to reality and my frustration level was off the chart. People who make this drive on a daily basis must be insane.

After a Costco stop, Debbie made a delicious dinner using the rotisserie chicken we bought.

David, I don’t remember if I mentioned the beer you bought me is a tasty one and I’ll seek it out in future. Thanks!

Wordle in 4 starting with BEAST. One mistake in Connections: green, yellow, purple, blue. Strands was an easy one.

Sorry your trip hasn’t been the best but hopefully things will change. After all, Easter is this week-end. It’s all about new beginnings. Hoping you’ll still make the ride.

What kind of beer Steve? Glad Debbie had a clean bill of health. I hate traffic.

Our usual happy hour Wednesday last night. Barb: I didn’t particularly care for the Unicorn Farts as I am not a coffee drinker and it tasted like coffee. No Trivia tonight. I have my annual Water Stewards Fair volunteer appreciation gathering.

    • Barb says:

I was going to ask you about trivia – I was thinking maybe I’d walk down to Harry’s. Oh well – I’ll figure something else out.

I was pretty sure I wouldn’t like the Uniform Farts – maybe someone Sunday at the Easter ride will ?

      • Bob says:

Beer and coffee are my 2 favorite things, I’m pretty sure I would love me some unicorn farts!!
Hate that I’m missing the easter ride πŸ™

The beer is a Moody Tongue chocolate caramelized churro porter!

Kevin went to some guitar band for middle aged dudes at Symphony Hall last night. I’ve never heard of them but I bet at least David has, and probably Paulie. Finn and I had a delightfully quiet evening.

I have a lot of shit to do today because we are off tomorrow. One of the (few) perks of working for a theological school!

    • Jenka says:

I looked it up: Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

    • At my last job we got Good Friday as a paid holiday because the HR person was Catholic.

      • Steve says:

        Oy vey!

It just happens to fall on my regular Friday off, so there’s that.

Paulie, I was thinking about meeting you for lunch somewhere, but maybe Yoders (isn’t that the Amish place) is closed for Good Friday?

        • Yes, Yoders is Amish (or Mennonite).

The way I feel it’s best to avoid me. I feel badly that I may infect Hank with whatever I have.

Though it may be a moot point, but if I could figure out a way to drop Hank off so he could have dinner with our other buddies about an hour away from Dunedin, I would. It would also be better off for me to drive home alone, but I already committed to driving Hank back to Atlanta.

      • David says:

Yeah, Good Friday was a paid holiday for me too, 26 years ago when I last had a day job. πŸ˜‰ I never questioned why. πŸ™‚

Phillies Opening day against the Braves is postponed to tomorrow – they should have to play in the rain – Football players do.

(I wouldn’t know these things, but my co-worker is a big Phillies fan & she told me)

  5. Barb says:

Has Hank been staying with you? & been out drinking, etc with you?
If yes – I don’t think a few more hours in the car will matter.

  6. Barb says:

Also – went & rode the bike again last night – 20 miles over in Roswell.
Next week we will add a few more hills. Thats 3 times in a week!!!

Wordle in 2 starting with AISLE! Perfect Connections – g,y,b,p and Strands with zero hints. My day needed a bright spot because I feel really puny. My system is taking a minute to recover.

I went to work for a couple hours, but sitting at a desk is really uncomfortable, so I’m taking the rest of the day off.

Sorry for your troubles Paulie. It’s bad enough to feel poorly, but it’s even more distressing when you’re not at home and have things to accomplish.

  8. David says:

Wordle in 3 today, with the first four letters correctly placed in 2. I keep getting close but no cigar for Wordle in under 3.

Connections: got through half and then said fuck this, the other two categories were way too contrived and/or pedantic.

  9. Barb says:

booked a little weekend camping outing at Indian Springs State park for 4/13 weekend. We have 1 free night I didn’t want to waste – and it expires in May.
We might do a Wheelhopper campout down there – I guess Allan is the hare in October.
